1st month — day one starts sundown of April 17

  • Passover Meal — begins the evening of Friday, May 1
  • Feast of Unleavened Bread — begins at sundown, Friday, May 1
  • First Fruits — begins at sundown, Saturday, May 2
  • Feast of Unleavened Bread — Ends at sundown, Friday, May 8

2nd month — day one starts sundown of May 17
(Provision for those who missed the first — Num. 9:6–12; 2 Chr. 30)

  • Second Passover Meal — evening of Sunday, May 31
  • Second Unleavened Bread — begins at sundown, Sunday, May 31
  • Second Unleavened Bread — ends at sundown, Sunday, June 7

3rd month — day one starts sundown of June 15

  • Shavuot / Pentecost — begins at sundown, Saturday, June 20

4th month — day one starts sundown of July 14
5th month — day one starts sundown of August 13
6th month — day one starts sundown of September 11

7th month — day one starts sundown of October 10

  • Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) — begins at sundown, Saturday, Oct 10
  • Day of Atonement (Yom haKippurim) — begins at sundown, Monday, Oct 19
  • Sukkot (Feast of Booths/Tabernacles) — begins at sundown, Saturday, Oct 24
  • **Sukkot — ends at sundown, Sunday, Nov 1

Note: The conjunction of the 7th month happens after sunset BUT still in the light of evening. Thus, before dark, the beginning of the next day. So the first day of the 7th month starts at dark after the conjunction.

8th month — day one starts sundown of November 9 9th month — day one starts sundown of December 9
10th month — day one starts sundown of January 8 (2027)
11th month — day one starts sundown of February 6 (2027) 12th month — day one starts sundown of March 8 (2027)

How This Calendar Is Calculated

  1. A year begins at the first new moon after the vernal equinox.
  2. A month begins at the sundown after the lunar conjunction (new moon).
  3. Evening begins when the sun is below the horizon; the day begins when no light remains in the sky.
  4. All new moons are reckoned by Jerusalem time.
